Usually one of the first questions a group has when they call to ask about staying with us is "What are your accomodations like?". Hopefully this will answer those questions! We try to keep this up to date, but as usual, things change sometimes overnight around here (for the better that is!). You'll note that some of the pictures on this page show that we're in various stages of construction, so bear with us as we strive to make LSS the best it can be. Even at this stage of construction, things in the main building are completed or nearly complete. The rooms are major comfy and individually air conditioned/heated. You won't have to worry about leaving your belongings while you're out ministering, as someone is here for the most part all the time. Best of all, you'll have an awesome Christian staff whose calling it is to serve your team, will be praying for you and can't wait to hear what God did with your day! Not to mention that the food is...well, hopefully some of the previous groups will read this page and LEAVE COMMENTS! :) MAKE SURE YOU DON'T JUST LOOK AT THE PICS BUT READ THE CAPTIONS AS WELL, BECAUSE THEY CONTAIN INFORMATION YOU'LL NEED SHOULD YOU DECIDE TO STAY WITH US! We hope this gives you an idea of what we here at LSS has to offer and we hope you'll give us the opportunity to facilitate your team to fulfill what He's calling you here to do. Should you have further questions, feel free to contact us at Mquest397@aol.com or call us at 956-417-3300 or the Director's cell at 956-235-1171. Blessings!
Bienvenidos! Welcome to Laredo Stepping Stone Missions Facilitation Center.
Let us give you the guided tour!
We'll start off first with our dorm rooms. We have 7 dorms total. All our rooms can hold at least 10 people with one able to hold 12. This dorm room is the Elliott room and holds 10.
As you can see, our rooms are furnished with bunk beds, 5 sets per room. If you are planning on bringing a group, you might want to assign the upper bunks for the more 'nimble' among your group and leave the lower bunks for us old, decrepid folks! :)~
This room is our "Missionary Candidate" room. All of our rooms are named after missionaries. This one, however, is to get those that stay there thinking! You never know when God is going to call one of your group into full time missionary life, and one day, their bio and picture could be on this door!
This is the Laszlow room. As you can see, we have a full size bed in this room as well as the 5 bunk beds, so it can hold 12 people in all. That is, as long as two don't mind sharing! We have this room set up this way as one of our purposes is providing full time missionary families with a place to stay. Several of our missionary families have 6 or more kids and all want to stay together in the same room, hence the reason for the way it's set up.

The next few photos are of the Lottie Moon room. As we mentioned earlier, all of our rooms are named after missionaries. We've also tried to include some information about the missionary the room is named after on the wall in that room. If you stay with us, make sure you look for it and read it. They've all had very interesting lives! If there's one thing missions is not, it's boring!
We've mentioned it in the header on this page, but it bears mentioning again because it's a frequent problem. We DO NOT provide linens. PLEASE bring either a sleeping bag or a fitted and flat sheet, as well as a pillow, towel and washcloth with you. As shown in these photos, we do have handmade quilts on the beds for you to use. As they have been made for us by hand by some WONDERFUL ladies at the Valley Baptist Retreat in McAllen,TX, we ask that you DON'T sleep on top of them or throw them on the floor. If you don't need them, leave them hanging on the bottom of the bed or put them on an unused bunk.
Each room does have it's own individual air conditioner/heater (yes, it does get that cold here in the winter!). We ask that they stay set on low/cool in the summer, because if they are turned all the way up, they do freeze up and you have NO air conditioning. :(
