Accomodations : Usually one of the first questions a group has when they call to ask about staying with us is "What are your accomodations like?". Hopefully this will answer those questions! We try to keep this up to date, but as usual, things change sometimes overnight around here (for the better that is!). You'll note that some of the pictures on this page show that we're in various stages of construction, so bear with us as we strive to make LSS the best it can be. Even at this stage of construction, things in the main building are completed or nearly complete. The rooms are major comfy and individually air conditioned/heated. You won't have to worry about leaving your belongings while you're out ministering, as someone is here for the most part all the time. Best of all, you'll have an awesome Christian staff whose calling it is to serve your team, will be praying for you and can't wait to hear what God did with your day! Not to mention that the food is...well, hopefully some of the previous groups will read this page and LEAVE COMMENTS! :) MAKE SURE YOU DON'T JUST LOOK AT THE PICS BUT READ THE CAPTIONS AS WELL, BECAUSE THEY CONTAIN INFORMATION YOU'LL NEED SHOULD YOU DECIDE TO STAY WITH US! We hope this gives you an idea of what we here at LSS has to offer and we hope you'll give us the opportunity to facilitate your team to fulfill what He's calling you here to do. Should you have further questions, feel free to contact us at Mquest397@aol.com or call us at 956-417-3300 or the Director's cell at 956-235-1171. Blessings!

Bath House Construction Project : This is one of our continuing consruction projects for 2008. Our bath house will give us LOTS more bathroom and shower space, so our teams can get to what God called them to do faster. It will also give us a large meeting room where the teams can have private devotion times as groups and we can host churches who want to use us for retreats.
We continue to look for individuals anc churches that God has called to sow in finances and work teams to help us realize this dream! Would you please pray and consider what God would have you do to help us continue to help missionaries and mission teams do the work God has called them to?

Short Term Housing for Missionaries:Missions Duplexes : LSS provides a "stop over" place for full time missionaries working in Mexico or along the frontera who need a place to stay for a night or two while going in and out of the country. We also make them available for one week, twice a year, booked in advance, so missionary families can have a vacation. The duplexes are for our missionary families only and not available for group use. They are meant to give the full time servants of our Lord a period of rest, relaxation, peace and rejuvination so they can go back refreshed and ready to face the challanges of the field with a fresh perspective and energy. The two duplexes we have are the Leyendecker House and the Mosure House with future plans for 8 more units.

LSS Missionaries : Pictured here are some of the missionaries who use LSS on a regular basis. We have about 30 such families and new ones are finding us all the time. Some just pass through once or twice and we don't see them again, but that's fine with us! As long as we can help to minister to them and supply them with the things they need, be it a one time trip or every month, we're extremly blessed to know them and count them as friends.

Missionary Fellowships : In helping to bring missionaries and ministries together, we've begun a monthly missionary fellowship. We get together once a month, on the last Tuesday of the month, to have food, fellowship, praise our Lord and Savior together and pray over each other's ministries. One of our goals here at LSS is to bring unity to the body and get everyone working together in able to win as many souls for the Kingdom as we can. After all, our common goal should be the fulfillment of the great commission...Go ye into all the world and make disciples! We do much better working as a team than we do in isolation. We pray God uses these meetings to help us uplift each other, encourage each other and help each other. If you are viewing this and are a missionary or ministry working in Mexico or the frontera and would like to join us, please give us a call for details!

Missions Duplex - Building process : Our missions duplexes were placed by God on Rick's heart several years ago. We knew missionaries needed a place to relax and recharge after facing the rigors of being full time on the mission field. When our missionary families show up, they've usually been running 90 to 9 and are now running on empty! We know, having been there, that a comfortable, clean, peacful, private place to stay can make all the difference in the world, even if it's just for a couple days or overnight. We had our missionary rooms in the main building, but we have many families with too many kids to fit them all together, which many of them prefer. The main building can also be a hub of activity and not the most peaceful place to get some rest. Rick brought his vision before a group called POWER ministries out of California, and they agreed to help build and partially fund the duplexes. Work was begun in January of 2004 and many people over the last year and a half have contributed their time, resources and talents to help us get them completed. As of August, 2006, our first side is almost ready to be used and the second is not far behind! This gallery tells the story of the 'evolution' of these short term use apartments that will be such a blessing to so many 'battle weary' missionary families. We want to give the 'front line warriors' a first class R & R station to help recharge them, physically and spiritually' for the next round. Our families have been watching them come together and are so excited to be able to use them. These will be open to full time missionary families staying overnight with us or for several nights. They will also be available to each family, twice a year, one week at a time for an extended 'get away' or vacation time, which can be very beneficial if you live in some of the conditions they do all the time. We just had a family stay overnight with us after a trek out of S. Mexico. They only live over the border in Nuevo Laredo and could have easily gone home, but they live in a Colonia (poor area). They moved there to be close to the people they minister to and their ministry, but at this time, have no electricity, running water or indoor plumbing! Even for them, one night w/us, a comfortable bed, hot shower and hot meal were a blessing, and they are only a few miles away from us! What an awesome God we serve, that He cares about even small comforts. We thank Him that He put this vision in our hearts to serve our missionaries in this way. We're planning on several more duplexes. Should you want to help in their development, please contact us here at LSS.
